There are a number of ways how a wedding planner could be compensated in case an event is being cancelled by the client or third parties’ actions:
– If a retainer is given, a wedding planner can keep the paid retainer in full;
– If there is no upfront retainer fee, a wedding planner may ask for a portion of the fees prescribed in the agreement (e.g., 30 or 50% of the total fees under the agreement);
– Any other arrangement the parties may agree to.
