The travel consent form for a child could be signed either by one parent/guardian or by both. This may depend on the following circumstances below.
Both parents have to sign if:
– a child lives together with both parents;
– if parents are divorced, but they have a shared legal custody over a child.
One parent or legal guardian has to sign if:
– one parent has a sole legal custody over a child (this is usually the case if parents are divorced or separated);
– a child has only one living parent (e.g. another parent died).
