Usually the most common payment model the parties prefer to choose is a fixed fee or an hourly rate. Services could be paid by a client in either of the following ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>in full upon issuance of invoice by a DJ;<\/li>\n<li>in full before the date of the event;<\/li>\n<li>in full on the date of signing this agreement;<\/li>\n<li>50% before on the date of signing, and the rest on the date of the event; or<\/li>\n<li>any other arrangement agreed upon by the parties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Last but not least, parties should define in the contract if the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ato.gov.au\/businesses-and-organisations\/gst-excise-and-indirect-taxes\/gst\"><em>Goods and Services Tax<\/em><\/a> shall be applicable to the services fee paid.<\/p>\n<h3>Obligations of the Parties<\/h3>\n<p>A contract agreement for DJ services should outline a clear list of obligations and duties for each party.<\/p>\n<p>A DJ is required to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>not use alcohol, drugs or any other substances while providing services;<\/li>\n<li>deliver a set of music as agreed by a client;<\/li>\n<li>deliver services in a professional and timely manner, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A client is required to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>provide correct details of a planned event;<\/li>\n<li>pay in a timely manner;<\/li>\n<li>provide all necessary equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Liability<\/h3>\n<p>Provision of services under a DJ agreement contract is partially regulated by Australian consumer laws. It means that a client has a number of statutory rights which cannot be cancelled or compromised by the provision of this contract, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the right to request the provision of services again; and<\/li>\n<li>the right to request compensation and a full refund in case of cancellation by a DJ.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Confidentiality<\/h3>\n<p>If a client wants to protect their privacy and the privacy of guests invited to the event, inclusion of a confidentiality clause is a must.
