In most cases, the employee will be entitled to a certain period of notice that their employment is ending. For example, if the employee is entitled to four weeks’ notice, then the employee will be entitled to be paid for a further four weeks, after receiving this letter.
Minimum notice periods are set in the National Employment Standards. However, if there is an applicable industrial instrument (such as an award or a registered agreement), then this may set additional notice requirements. In addition, a contract of employment or a workplace policy might also set additional notice requirements.
If the employer is going to provide payment in lieu of notice (so that the employee leaves immediately), select “No”.
